Dear Self-care,

It has taken me a while to arrive to this dialogue with you. The goal of my blogs has always been finding solutions, it is how I operate, and as I mentioned on my 2nd blog “Journaling” can guide us to our true selves as C.G Jung putted “I began to understand that the goal of psychic development is the self. There is no linear evolution; there is only a circumambulation of the self.” The focus of developing oneself is an interesting contrast to the verse of “Love your neighbor as yourself” the picture can seem convoluted when you put the two together and if you are a minimalist, it may be too rich for your taste, so take one bite at a time.

These two statements are Yin and yang, cohesive and meant to be expressed and experienced together. My understanding of C.G Jung’s statement above signified that we have all the answers within ourselves and getting to them is the development we are seeking. Also, when Matthew teaches in chapter 22:39 “Love your neighbor as yourself” he is saying we must love ourselves and our neighbors not one or the other. Perhaps both thoughts are evoking the same resolution but with different words. Linguistics give meaning, and more than ever our world needs open and vulnerable conversations which address change.

A common language we should all have is love. To love others we must self-developed which means learning who we are, what is loving, setting healthy boundaries, perimeters, goals. Having important conversations and understanding good things take time. We can achieve this, it is a daily choice, one that will filled our cup drop by drop allowing us to give from an overflowing cup and yield us sweet fruits as strong trees get vigorous through time. Healthy trees require water so water your garden, it may grow you a tree, and fruits, and if your neighbor needs an apple, would you say no? Self-care is both the self and caring for all.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love”

Happy Valentine’s,

AMAS

Hi! I look forward to sharing topics and reading your thoughts :). I was born in Colombia, lived in TX for 12.5 years, and I now live in LA. Life has the tendency of throwing curveballs, and I've learned that preparation is of the essence. Preparation starts with knowing who we are, and what we want, the rest is history... I am a big admirer of art, artists, passion and creativity. Cheers to originality. I think all problems in life arise from communication. The solution is to become better listeners to ourselves, others, and hopefully be able to express and convey what we actually need… Art has the capacity of expressing what we can not at times. Art is not constricted to one thing... #thecircleoflife #letsgrowtogether
