“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
In this day and age when things are readily available and instant gratification its the norm, patience seems like an archaic tool. We don’t usually think of where things come from, how long it takes to make them, and the real time and resources invested. We simply travel through life like nothing is special, and expect prime delivery for almost anything if not everything. Had it not been for the broken supply chain we would be making exalted calls wondering where our packages may be, and I wonder if we even know the current location of our lives… Perhaps this indicator is profounder.
While the fast lane might sound provocative I don’t believe it to suffice. The current times have slowed everything down forcing us to think and track more than just our packages. The fast food lane provides instant gratification but not sure complete satisfaction, because quality takes time. So here we are at the unpredicted turn of events, forced from prime to patience, nonetheless even if involuntary a good mental, emotional, and spiritual workout. While the current times might make us feel sore, I also believe they can provide the strength to bounce back in a much better place, otherwise we would continue on pilot mode.
Truth be told good things don’t happen overnight & time teaches us to value things we give for granted most of the time. The current times present us an opportunity to think, and get off of zombie mode, to realize the power we have to impact our lives instead of focusing on the wrong items and waste precious time. Prime practice is not in just waiting but rather being proactive. Patience is a much-needed reinforcement to remind us that quality homes are not built overnight, many actions have to take place before construction can even begin. So, patience is key to a good life, and the moment we embrace it with nimble hands many of our challenges will be sufficed.
