Mother Earth

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”

-Mahatma Gandhi

Do you have a place where to sleep? What did you eat today? Are you comfortable in those sweatpants? Do you have a favorite companion: family, friends, animals? What about the beautiful sunset? Or the sound of the rain, and the calm after the storm. The blue glazing water which reflects and mirrors you. Everything a masterpiece by the Designer of this earth.

Everything we have comes from His earth, yet we completely forget about it. This is a narrative we see over and over again. One that has more implications than we think, and the power to transform. Freedom is essential and with it comes responsibility. Does that mean they cancel each other out? Quite the opposite, they go hand in hand like a good partnership.

Our relationship with Earth simulates matrimony, perhaps the meaning of matrimony needs to be revised. It goes beyond romanticism as idealization can become a burden. Matrimony however has a deeper meaning. We carried it throughout life in the different partnerships we have. A partnership carries responsibility, tasks that are essential to its duration.

For some reason we have given earth the name of mother and not father. I wonder what prompted us to do that? Perhaps because moms and females have been associated with being nurturing, and earth gives us so much. So, today is a good day to be grateful, to celebrate all the things and opportunities we have. A new day to contribute as mother earth already has.

Happy Earth Day!

Hi! I look forward to sharing topics and reading your thoughts :). I was born in Colombia, lived in TX for 12.5 years, and I now live in LA. Life has the tendency of throwing curveballs, and I've learned that preparation is of the essence. Preparation starts with knowing who we are, and what we want, the rest is history... I am a big admirer of art, artists, passion and creativity. Cheers to originality. I think all problems in life arise from communication. The solution is to become better listeners to ourselves, others, and hopefully be able to express and convey what we actually need… Art has the capacity of expressing what we can not at times. Art is not constricted to one thing... #thecircleoflife #letsgrowtogether
