“Writers and musicians know well the importance of extensive reading for successful writing or extensive listening for musical composition. Likewise, visual artists… understand that successful artistic creativity depends upon extensive visual exposure.”

The current times have been nothing short of gnarly. We live in a world of divorce parents. Parents who have forgotten the importance of their child, and what it is at stake. At some point one would think their differences would be put aside and what matters would be prioritized. Not a democrat, not a republican, just wanting solutions and the well being of all of us. I loved Joaquin’s speech at the 2020 Oscars. I see art as the child of politics. The child of a broken home, yet with the opportunity to overcome toxicity. To go passed so many challenges. So I am sharing with you my letter to art…
Dear art,
You are therapeutic, expressive, inclusive, beyond borders and language. You are a language we can all speak. You are the pair of lenses our blind eyes need. You allow us to see beauty because you bring and depict nothing but grace. You have the capacity of teaching us life lessons without undergoing the difficult life experiences. You are a glue which unites us. You see passed any facades: gender, class, ethnicity, background… You possess the qualities of a psychologist whose sole purpose is to aid humans in understanding life and finding their own path. You make us more introspective. You cancel out the dichotomy between the individual and the member of society because truth be told they are both important. It takes time to get to the final you (there isn’t). It takes time to learn you, and through the process of it my ardor has only kindle. Thank you for the opportunity of a better US. Cheers to you and the open avenues you create.
Much Love,
Nani
It is painful to see so much brokenness but that’s where the value-add is at. The opportunity to make things better. I wish we could do more and that’s where it starts, by wanting more. Right where we are. Right there, that place, the place life has given us to make an impact even if miniscule. One day at a time, one task at a time. Everything has a process, just like any piece of art. Patience is bitter but its fruits are sweet.
