“Watch carefully, the magic that occurs, when you give a person just enough comfort to be themselves.”
Atticus
Today is about Atticus The Poet. A friend sent me a post of his poems, and I’ve been savoring some of his art ever since. The previous blog was about To Kill a Mockingbird and Atticus the lawyer and father to Scout and Jem. Atticus the lawyer fought for freedom and justice. He was advocating for a fair life for everyone regardless of their background and race. His example demonstrated to his children courage and the importance of standing up for fairness. Atticus the Poet also seems to embody some of these messages but in a poetic manner: “Love her but leave her wild”. We are different, unique, and by the same token we need to be comfortable in our own skin while empowering others to do the same.
Atticus had an interview in The Think Tank Podcast. It was very enriching to hear the host Tank Sinatra and Atticus speak about their experiences. I could relate to many of the things they were sharing. The more I learn the more I realize there is an infinite amount of things to know and explore. We are always learning. This has been accentuated furthermore through moving and living in very different places. This has also been an aid in working and interacting with people from all walks of life. We’ve all had unique journeys, so it would be absurd to think we possess the absolute truth. Many times experiences and time accompanied by an open mind can birth new ways of understanding.
There is a balance to be maintain between who we are while allowing the space for new horizons. Being humble enough to give ourselves and others space to grow. Not all plants sprout at the same time nor in the same season. Some leaves grow others wither, there’s a season for both. God is the best poet and He gave us nature for a reason. Love then is not a cage but a continues cycle. Love is freeing not fearful, a tool meant to empower us. One that gives us courage to achieve the best in each of us. Love like water must run its own course. Living water is not stagnant is moving and moving requires freedom and faith. Yet His nature never disappoints it just takes time, so love is patient too.

Well said. Keep up .
