Diversification

“Success is dangerous. One begins to copy oneself, and to copy oneself is more dangerous than to copy others. It leads to sterility.”

– Pablo Picasso

Magazine: Architectural Digest (AD). Edition: October 2019. It features a rising star, Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, and his first private house. Bjarke has become recognized for his creative, congruent, purposeful, and ecological thinking, whether building skyscrapers, stadiums, museums, you name it! When I look at his buildings they personified Bjarke’s confidence in his creation, someone willing to to push the envelope outside the norm. So without more delay, the above quote by Picasso, and Bjarke’s comments: “In architecture you can quickly become specialized,” are what inspired this blog. The power we possess to become victorious, not allowing ourselves to be victims of outdated roles, the importance diversification plays in our lives, and not being a prey of our own stereotypes. So, how can we prevent stereotypes?

Even after becoming experts, our thirst for knowledge and creativity should never go away. Staying curious and receptive allows us to squeeze the sweetest fruits from life. We have so many roles and places to explore. There’s a lot more to life than “victories or failures”, than “wrong or right”, those definitions don’t define life, they simply limit us. Life is not one big event, instead is the sum of many moments and steps. Life is like a symphony which possesses many notes, highs and lows which encompass our unique story. Everyday there’s something new to discover, learn, practice, and become better at. We can’t let our flame become extinguish. Relationships, work, exercise, love, they all have something in common, they require work… Nothing has to become dull, we have the power to ignite that light, to keep the passion alive in all areas of our lives.

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”

– Pele

Hi! I look forward to sharing topics and reading your thoughts :). I was born in Colombia, lived in TX for 12.5 years, and I now live in LA. Life has the tendency of throwing curveballs, and I've learned that preparation is of the essence. Preparation starts with knowing who we are, and what we want, the rest is history... I am a big admirer of art, artists, passion and creativity. Cheers to originality. I think all problems in life arise from communication. The solution is to become better listeners to ourselves, others, and hopefully be able to express and convey what we actually need… Art has the capacity of expressing what we can not at times. Art is not constricted to one thing... #thecircleoflife #letsgrowtogether
